Coach Hire to Bodiam Castle in East Sussex

Coach and minibus hire to Bodiam Castle

JRP Direct arranges coach hire to Bodiam Castle for groups who want to explore the 14th-century moated castle together, with collection from wherever suits you. We are a family-run transport company at Cross in Hand near Heathfield, running modern minibuses and coaches since 2019, all driven by staff with enhanced DBS checks. Bodiam is run by the National Trust, and a group visit works best when the coach parking is pre-booked, the group benefits are claimed and everyone knows the castle is mostly outdoors.

Pre-book coach parking at Bodiam Castle

The National Trust provides free coach parking at Bodiam for two pre-booked coaches at any one time. Groups that arrive without booking pay normal admission plus £50 for two hours’ coach parking, and are only admitted if there is room in the coach park. Booking your group visit with Bodiam before the day secures the parking, and we will plan the arrival time around the slot you are given.

National Trust group benefits

Pre-booked parties of 15 or more receive a discounted admission rate, self-guided tours at no extra cost and a £5 tea-room voucher for the coach driver. Group leaders and National Trust members are admitted free, and members need to bring their current membership cards to avoid paying the full group rate. The Trust also offers group leaders a free Travel Trade Pass for planning visits.

School trips to Bodiam Castle

Bodiam is currently offering self-led educational visits, built around studying a historical site, the history of castles and medieval life. The National Trust’s Teacher Resource Pack for Bodiam can be downloaded free, and schools can apply for an Education Group Access Pass, which gives the whole group free admission and parking at most National Trust places for a year. Bodiam is a mainly outdoor site, so pupils should dress for the weather.

More on how we run school travel is on our school transport page, and the same coach can continue to Battle Abbey for a 1066 history day.

Choosing a minibus or coach for Bodiam

Free coach parking is limited to two pre-booked coaches at once, so vehicle size is worth settling when you book. Our 75-seater coaches carry a full year group or a large society together, our 35-seater team coach suits a class or club, and our 16-seater and 19-seater minibuses take smaller groups. Groups with a wheelchair user can travel together on our accessible executive coach, which has a lift and 51 seats.

On board there is CCTV and telematics tracking, each vehicle is cleaned before setting off and maintained by professionals, and your driver will be waiting 15 minutes ahead of the pickup time.
