Penshurst Place provides allocated hard-standing coach parking beside the Visitor Entrance. The archway on the way in measures 3.8 metres high by 2.6 metres wide, and Penshurst explains that double-decker coaches unable to fit through it can drop off at an alternative entrance and park in the lay-by in the village, by arrangement with the estate in advance.

There is also free parking in the main visitor car park close to the Visitor Entrance and Gift Shop, with parking for disabled visitors at the front of the grassed car park.

Combined packages and winter tours

Penshurst runs joint offers with other Kent attractions, including Penshurst Parish Church and Hever Castle, and the same coach can take your group on to the second venue. During the festive period the Manor House is dressed with freshly cut mistletoe and foliage from the estate, and groups can book a behind-the-scenes winter tour with the Head Housekeeper, followed by festive refreshments around the fire.

School visits to Penshurst Place

School groups have their own options at Penshurst, including toy workshops, bushcraft courses, house and garden visits and pre-booked lunches. School prices are based on a minimum of 15 pupils, resource packs are available from the schools section of Penshurst’s website, and the coach driver receives a complimentary visit and refreshment voucher.
