Chessington is inside London’s ULEZ, and our vehicles are compliant

Chessington World of Adventures Resort sits inside London’s Ultra Low Emission Zone. The resort explains that the zone’s expansion on 29 August 2023 took in all of its entrances, so vehicles that do not meet the emission standards face a daily charge on arrival. JRP Direct’s fleet is ULEZ-compliant, which means a group organiser has nothing extra to pay or check for the zone when travelling with us.

Where coaches and minibuses park at Chessington

Chessington provides free parking for coaches and minibuses in a designated coach car park near its Lodge Gate entrance, off Leatherhead Road. Coaches follow the signs for express parking and drop-off, and a member of the resort team directs the driver to a space. According to the resort’s access information, there is no road to cross between the car park and the entrance.

Chessington advises arriving early at busy times, as the entrance can get crowded, and asks school bookings to say how many coaches are arriving.

A minibus or a coach for your group

The right vehicle depends on how many people are travelling, children and adults together. A family party, a youth section or a small club fits our 16-seater minibus, which has air conditioning, reclining aisle seats and overhead luggage racks, and the 19-seater executive minibus takes a slightly larger party. A school class or a whole Scout troop with its leaders usually fits our 35-seater team coach. Our larger coaches seat up to 75 for a full year group or district day out, and our wheelchair-accessible executive coach takes 51 passengers plus a wheelchair user, so nobody has to travel separately.

Group and school tickets at Chessington

Ticket bookings are made directly with the resort. Chessington’s help centre has guidance on group discounts and on discounts for Scout, Guide and youth groups. For schools, Chessington’s school package includes free teacher tickets at one for every five primary pupils and one for every ten secondary students, free coach and minibus parking, free planning tickets for two teachers and a pre-completed risk assessment, with optional workshops for every key stage. Getting to Chessington from Sussex and Kent

Chessington World of Adventures Resort is on Leatherhead Road, Chessington KT9 2NE, on the A243 about two miles from the A3 and the M25. Chessington sends southern traffic to junction 9 of the M25. Pickups can be arranged at schools, halls, community centres or homes anywhere in Sussex and Kent, such as Heathfield, Uckfield, Crowborough, East Grinstead, Crawley, Horsham, Haywards Heath, Tunbridge Wells or Sevenoaks.
